One queue, sorted by hand
HIM staff classify and index each fax before it reaches a service line. Volume grows every year. Headcount doesn’t.
For hospitals and health systems
For HIM and informatics teams handling hundreds of thousands of fax pages a month. Every page is sorted by confidence before any expensive model runs, and every value a service line needs is cited to its page and line.
Projected Proposed single-site VHA pilot: 25–35% less time on pre-visit record review.
01 / Where the queue breaks
Every inbound fax has to be opened, sorted, and indexed before anyone can act on it. At health-system volume, the queue sets the pace for referrals, consults, and outside records across every service line.
HIM staff classify and index each fax before it reaches a service line. Volume grows every year. Headcount doesn’t.
Records from other facilities land in the chart as a single unindexed file. Clinicians search it page by page, or skip it.
A service line returns the referral for missing information. The ECG or pathology report was in the packet the whole time.
Running a full OCR or model pass over cover sheets, duplicates, and blank pages adds up fast at this scale.
More scanning won’t fix it. Knowing which pages matter will.

Projections prepared for a proposed pilot at one VA medical system, which faces the same outside-records problem as any large health system. The pilot hasn’t run yet, so these are not results. We’ll walk you through the assumptions.

03 / How it works at a health system
The same four steps as everywhere InfoNotData runs, placed where your faxes already land.
Every page in the central queue is sorted Easy, Medium, or Hard in milliseconds, before any expensive model runs.
HIM stops hand-sorting cover sheets. Each service line gets only the values its intake checklist asks for. No summaries, no generated text.
Coordinators get facts, not an 846-page PDF.Found values are matched to the service line’s requirements, and gaps are flagged before the referral moves.
Fewer referrals bounce back.Every value links to its page and line. Low-confidence pages go to HIM staff, never a guess.
Anyone can verify it in one click.High-confidence pages are processed automatically on the fast path.
Pages that need a closer read get a targeted extraction pass. Values only, each with its source.
Low-confidence pages, like handwriting or a poor-quality fax, go to a person. Never a guess.
Check and cite
Your service lines define what “complete” means. InfoNotData checks each packet against that list and shows exactly where every value came from, and what’s missing.
Illustrative checklists. Requirements are configured with each service line.
04 / At health-system scale
That’s the inbound volume of a single regional system. InfoNotData is built for queues of 100,000 to more than 1,000,000 pages a month.
Advanced pre-processing and a model selector decide which pages need which pass, so cover sheets and duplicates don’t get the same treatment as an echo report.
Filter before you spend
Put in your volume and your rates. Every assumption is on the screen, so you can take the math to your CFO.

Questions from HIM and IT
No. It works on faxes after they arrive through RightFax, another fax server, or your mail and fax gateways. Your fax numbers and inbound channels stay as they are.
No. InfoNotData is extraction-only. It pulls specific values, such as an ejection fraction or an ECG date, and links each one to the page and line it came from. It never generates text about a patient.
Low-confidence pages, like handwriting or a poor-quality fax, are routed as Hard and go to a person on your HIM team. InfoNotData doesn’t guess, and it shows what it couldn’t find.
Not directly, today. InfoNotData works on faxes as they arrive and gives your team the extracted values with their page-and-line citations, so nothing in Epic, Oracle Cerner, or your other systems has to change. Tell us about your workflow and we’ll show you where it fits.
InfoNotData is built for HIPAA requirements and uses FIPS-validated encryption. Bring your vendor-risk questionnaire to the walkthrough and we’ll go through it with your security team. See security and compliance.

A 30-minute walkthrough with an engineer. We’ll run a synthetic or de-identified packet through routing, extraction, and citation, and show you where it hands off to your HIM team.
An engineer, not a sales script. We’ll show you what it doesn’t do, too.
